Site move

It’s been an awfully long time since there’s been an update here, I know. And I apologize. If you’ve been following me on Fur Affinity you know there’s content there that hasn’t made it over here—although the reverse is also true.

There’s a lot of reasons for that, but the big one is that I’ve been putting off an update until after I could do a redesign—and that became kind of an albatross. Also, the old system that I’ve been using to manage the web site has grown flakier with time. (I’m having more trouble than you would think updating it for this little news blip!) I’ve finally settled on a new design and a flexible management system which will let me do some of the crazy stuff that I’d like to. There’s still a lot of work to do to get the new site in shape (I haven’t even started thinking about image management, for instance), but it’s promising!

There’s going to be some changes—I don’t know whether I’m going to keep comments, for instance, and if you’re one of the few people using the RSS feed to keep up with things here, there’s a good chance that’s going to go away or become something different. But the biggest change will be a new URL:

I’ve owned the GC domain for years, and since I took the GC forum down over a year ago, that site’s basically been a placeholder. It’s time to put it to good use. I’m going to do my best to make sure all the URLs hosted here on macrophile.com stay intact and no links/bookmarks break: all of them should redirect to their new homes once the site is set up.
